About the Holding
Brendan and Julie are the 4th generations on the family farm. They have 12 acres consisting of a polytunnel with a wide and varied selection of vegetable paddocks and forestry a few hens more to come and in process of applying for their pig heard number and 6 beehives.
Brendan has a horticultural background. He also has many hidden talents passionate about woodwork which incorporates bird boxes and beehives and restoring old farm buildings and their family home.
Julie comes from a catering background and can produce a meal from almost anything. She wishes to teach people how to create good proper wholesome foods. Julie has worked in the intellectual disability sector for over 10 years.
A Social Farming Day
- Working in the tunnel growing a wide variety of vegetables maintaining to harvesting moving on to producing a lunch with the produce grown and harvested by the participants.
- Feeding the hens /fencing/making and painting bird boxes and beehives/ frames for the hives jarring and labelling honey
- Planting trees/preparing the site for our new pigs.
- Painting the hen house.
Local Interests
Nenagh has a rugby club and Temple Derry GAA club. The farm supply’s the Nenagh Country Market with some of their produce.
Brendan is a referee for Leinster branch rugby.
