About the Farm
Rampark farm, farmed by the Deegan family since the 1700s, consists of 140 acres, 100 acres of which are under forestry. The forests consist mainly of oak, beech, ash, sycamore, Norway Spruce, and Scots Pine. There are 3km of paths through the forest along which many other tree species have been planted.
A calf to beef enterprise is run on the remainder of the farm and since 1999 all of the family’s meat and vegetables have been produced organically.
Gerard has hens, broilers, ducks, turkeys, a pair of peafowl, and pigs.
Gerard has spent his life farming with the exception of 2 years volunteering in Africa. There he developed a keen interest in alternative medicine studies and trained in reflexology, kinesiology, and sports therapy. After returning home he spent many years as a volunteer with the Red Cross and began treating all animals homoeopathically.
