Tom has a pedigree herd of limousin cattle about (30 cattle at present) and a small flock of sennan goats which are milked daily. The milk is used at home and sold from the farm to a few customers. There is a large poly tunnel where fruit and vegetables are grown for domestic use.
Ten beehives are on the farm from which honey is harvested and beeswax is used to make candles.
Tom has a pet donkey and 5 dogs, Ruby, a Great Dane, an Aussie names Kelpie, and three Westies, Lilly, Poppie and Pearl.
The farm is a traditional small mixed farm that has been in the family for at least six generations. Tom’s wife Mary works for Ability West and they have three daughters.
Animal care: Feeding cattle and goats,
Beekeeping: making beehives for the coming year for honey and beeswax.
Veg and fruit growing: preparing and maintaining poly tunnel, sowing, watering, feeding, weeding, transplanting.
Tom is a member of the Mountbellew Agricultural Show Society and the Mountbellew Heritage Society.
