

ABOUT THE FARM HOLDING
The Maher’s have 80 acres and their main enterprise is calf to beef, buying in calves and rearing them to beef. In addition they have 2 donkey’s and chickens, a garden area growing shrubs and fruits and are building a wheelchair accessible greenhouse/poly-tunnel for growing veg.
For rainy days there is a workshop for repairing farm hand tools.
Participants are welcome to have meals with the family and there is also a canteen available for tea/coffee. There is a wheelchair accessible toilet and wash hand basin, an area for participants to leave work clothes or wet gear and a designated smoking area.
A SOCIAL FARMING DAY
- Gardening/horticulture: sowing, tending, feeding and watering
- Feeding and bedding calves, cleaning sheds
- Changing and maintaining fencing
